Cognitive Map

 A cognitive map is a visual tool used to organize and represent knowledge. It involves connecting concepts with labelled links that illustrate the relationship between them. It is mainly used in education, research and problem solving because they help simplify complex ideas.  The several uses of concept maps include to teach or summarize a topic, to generate or organize ideas, problem solving, planning, research. The units taken for cognitive mapping were Beyond the Horizon and Heights of Harmony. The former unit contains 3 chapters, which includes a poem, travel experience and story. The latter unit contains 3 chapters which includes Q poem, story and one act play. The former unit focusses in travel and different experience it gives. The Heights of Harmony emphasize the relationships, harmony, cooperation, friendship and corrupting power of money.

ICT LESSON PLAN

 As part of B.Ed. curriculum, ICT lesson plan has been prepared for the first lesson plan on the lesson The Nightingale and the Rose. As it was the first hour the students were so thrilled and energetic. They listened well. On the first day itself I completed the first lesson plan on the lesson 'First Showers'. Students were so excited to see the model of the seasons. I completed the poem on the next day and moved on the next lesson The Nightingale and the Rose. It was an ICT lesson plan and the students were so excited to see the videos and pictures. Students seemed so active to see images and videos. They understood about the soothing power of nature. The video of nightingale singing made them realize how sweet the voice of nightingale is.

Digital Text

 As part of B.Ed. curriculum, a digital text has been prepared on the chapter " The Nightingale and the Rose". I converted the story into a drama. I thought representing it as a drama can instil interest in them and it will be more easy for the students to understand. Digital text is written material that is presented in electronic format. Digital text can be interactive and multimodal meaning they can include images, videos etc. Digital text in B.Ed. curriculum refers to any written content presented electronically like e- books, online articles, interactive documents etc which can be accessed on computers or mobile devices, allowing teachers to incorporate technology into their lessons and provide students with diverse learning experiences and materials beyond traditional textbooks. Teaching Practice Phase 3 Week 5

 On 4th of December, I noticed that the school stage is being decorated using stars. Soon teachers told that there is assembly. After the prayer, the Principal of VHSS section announced the venture of plus one students- the making of Christmas star by the vocational students solar LED technician course. The Principal handed the star to the Principal of HS section. The innovative model was prepared for the topic adverbs indicating the kinds of adverbs including the kinds of adverbs including adverbs of manner, frequency, relative adverbs etc. I just want to exhibit the types using an attractive means. I prepared the aid using multiwood and colour papers.  Presenting the innovative aid  I conducted achievement test and 21 students wrote the test. I was so happy to see the good marks scored by Alfariz and Aromal with 22 marks. The lowest mark scored was 9. The rest of them scored marks above 15 marks. Innovative lesson

As part of B.Ed. curriculum, an innovative work has been prepared for the second teaching phase.  The innovative model was prepared for the topic adverbs indicating the kinds of adverbs including the kinds of adverbs including adverbs of manner, frequency, relative adverbs etc. I just want to exhibit the types using an attractive means. I prepared the aid using multiwood and colour papers.  Presenting the innovative aid The students were so interested to read and understand the types of adverbs. I asked them to rotate it and read aloud.

Teaching Practice Phase 2 Week 4

 The main event of this week was the school tour of 10th standard students to Munnar and Wonder la. The classes went so well because the students were so active and interested to know the rest of the story. Students were eager to know what happened to the nightingale. The students worried about the sacrifice she has done for the young student. They responded well to the picture story. I think showing showing the picture story is really effective in transacting the story and also helpful for conducting the class without much boredom. The use of good marks also acts as great reinforcement. On 27th November, I took Advance Organizer model on the topic pronouns. The teacher educator came for observation. I used the strategy of moving from known to unknown which the teacher educator specially mentioned. Teaching Practice Phase 2 Week 3

I took the lesson "The Nightingale and the Rose" during the third week also, since it was a lengthy chapter. I introduced entry activities that can enrich the students' vocabulary and grammatical knowledge. I explained the difference between 'advise' and 'advice'. I concluded the class using the picture story. Students were so thrilled to see the next pages of picture story book. On 21st November, I got 2 hours and I planned to give notes during one hour. I gave different entry activities like identifying the names of flowers. On 22nd November, I conducted diagnostic test during the third hour, on the topic Adjectives. Our optional teacher educator Mr. Nadeem Surfid sir came for observation. The class began with entry activity of introducing a new word 'Angeliferous'. The link talk was done through flowchart.
