A Visit To Legislature of the State of Kerala
"THERE IS NO FRIEND AS LOYAL AS A BOOK" - Ernest Hemingway
As part of B.Ed. curriculum, field visits are prescribed for each semesters. The English Optional student teachers visited the Kerala Niyamasabha as the book festival KLIBF was held there. Firstly, we went to the legislative assembly hall, we were seated on the gallery opened for the public. It is built in the classical style of architecture of Kerala. An information assistant gave us the details regarding the history, architecture, furniture, the seats allotted to various persons and officials.
The Kerala Legislature International Book Festival is one of the unique events, which was born out of the cherished cultural and literary traditions followed in the State of Kerala. It is conceptualized as part of the year long centenary celebrations of the Kerala Legislature Library, the KLIBF bears the imprint of the literary landscape.
KLIBF was a perfect choice for the language student teachers' field visit. We came across new publishers and we were able to go through their books. The book festival was really a stunning event as it opened to us a world of books. There was a profusion of books and it hosted book release functions and seminars.
