Criticism Classes : A Practice to the Practical Part of B.Ed.
As part of B.Ed curriculum, student teachers must take classes to the peer group and they are supposed to judge the student teacher based on some predetermined criteria. Teacher educator provided the instructions and allotted the time table. It was conducted in 2 days on 26 th and 27 th of July.
I took the class on 27th of July and I was assigned the Advance organiser model. I chose the grammar portion Concord and used the knowledge of subject and verb as the advance organiser. The teaching aids used include chart, cards, activity cards, and ppt.
I started the class by informally interacting with the students and also mentioned the day importance. Then, I moved on to presenting the advance organiser. I taught 3 rules of Concord and gave suitable exercises.
The reviews given by the student teachers and the teacher educator were of mostly positive ones. The teacher educator appreciated each effort and mentioned about the lesson plan, ppt and chart. The peer group also gave positive reviews.
On a whole, the criticism classes turned out to be a great step closest to the practical phase of B.Ed. It gave us insights into the major techniques, valuable strategies of an effective teaching learning process.
